Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 25, 2026
Carbonated Audio ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit carbonatedaudio.com or purchase one of our plugins, why we collect it, and what your rights are. Questions? Email mixedbysoda@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly. When you buy a plugin or request a demo, you give us your email address and (via Stripe) payment details and billing country. When you email us for support, we keep the contents of that email.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage data when you visit — such as the pages you view, approximate location (country / region), the device and browser you use, the referring website, and timestamps.
2. How we use your information
- To deliver the plugin you purchased and send your license key and download link.
- To provide customer support and respond to emails.
- To send transactional messages (receipts, activation, important update notices).
- To send an occasional product update or new-release announcement (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To detect fraud and protect our business and customers.
3. Tools and third parties we use
We share the minimum information needed with the following services:
- Stripe — processes payments. Stripe receives your name, email, billing country, and card details.
- Resend — sends transactional and marketing emails from
mixedbysoda@gmail.com. - Netlify — hosts the website and serverless backend.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate, anonymized traffic stats. IPs are truncated. We have Google Signals enabled, which means that for visitors who are signed in to a Google account and have Ads Personalization turned on, Google associates anonymized cross-device and demographic information (age range, gender, interests, approximate location) with the session. This helps us understand who our audience is and improves our ad targeting. We never see individual user identities; only aggregated reports.
- Google Ads — measures the performance of our advertising and lets us build remarketing audiences (e.g. visitors who downloaded a demo but did not purchase). Audience data is shared between Google Analytics and Google Ads in aggregated, non-identifying form to support our own marketing.
- PACE Anti-Piracy (iLok) — activates and validates plugin licenses on your machine.
We do not sell your personal information. The only "advertising" use of your data is the aggregated audience and conversion measurement described above, which we use to run our own ads — we do not pass your data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
4. Cookies and similar tech
We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries for analytics (Google Analytics with Google Signals), advertising measurement (Google Ads conversion + remarketing tags), and to keep the site working correctly. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work, but some analytics and ad-measurement data won't be collected.
How to opt out: If you are signed in to a Google account, you can disable Ads Personalization at adssettings.google.com and review or delete the data Google has collected about your activity at myactivity.google.com. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop your visits being included in our analytics.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep purchase records and license information for as long as needed to support your license, respond to disputes, and comply with tax and accounting laws (typically up to 7 years). Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your data (subject to our legal retention obligations).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
To exercise any of these rights, email mixedbysoda@gmail.com.
7. International transfers
Carbonated Audio is based in the United States. If you are visiting from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our service providers operate.
8. Children
Our products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will always show the latest version.
